- Won 23 DWI jury trials in a row as a fledgling prosecutor and was promoted to Felony Prosecutor by Henry Wade in one year (1974)
- Reversed in the U.S. Supreme Court, a federal trial court's finding of civil liability for violations of securities registration provisions, in his first federal trial, also reversing the U. S. Fifth Circuit en banc (Pinter v. Dahl, 486 U.S. 622 (1988). Now considered a landmark securities case.
